Hatfield Jewish community is located between Borehamwood and Stevenage and is a charming town located in Hertfordshire, England, with a rich history and a blend of modern amenities. Situated approximately 20 miles north of central London, Hatfield is known for its picturesque landscapes, historic landmarks, and vibrant community. The town has evolved from its agricultural roots into a dynamic hub, home to both residential neighbourhoods and thriving commercial areas.

​February 2026 - Hatfield celebrates ‘biggest ever’ Jewish gathering
Hatfield Jewish community is celebrating noticeable growth, its leaders said, as it held its biggest gathering last weekend.
The congregation, which is located between Borehamwood and Stevenage, saw around 100 people come together for a Shabbaton in Letchworth.
Described as a “milestone weekend” by the community’s leaders, they said it marked “another important step in the continued development of the community, highlighting both its growth and its strong sense of unity”.

Their warmth, kindness, and genuine passion for helping others have created an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome—no matter their background or level of knowledge. The regular community events they organize are always uplifting, inclusive, and full of meaning.

May 2024 - Meet the new Rabbinic Couple
Welwyn Garden City Hebrew Congregation and Hatfield Jewish Community appoint Rabbi and Rebbetzen Herszaft as new Rabbinic Couple
Emily Lee and Michael Ajoodan-Poor, our then co-Chairs of Hatfield Jewish Community, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Rabbi Adam and Rebbetzen Racheli Herszaft to Hatfield. We have faith in their abilities to guide and support the ever-growing Hatfield Jewish Community. We look forward to sharing this next chapter in our story.”
